How to Prepare for the Holidays Early This Year

The holidays are quick approaching and it is a time of year to which everyone looks forward and dreads. Whether you are the one who has volunteered to host your family’s Prayer dinner or you suddenly have three dozen more grandchildren to buy Christmas gifts for, you start feeling very nervous come November. Three major holidays are crammed into one month and you feel yourself scrambling to get everything done at the last small, counting trying to find discount barstools. This holiday should not be worrying although it may feel like it at times. Getting together with friends and family should make this the most pleased time of year, but if you are not prepared, you have much less fun than you should. Here are a few tips so that you are ready for the holidays:

1. Place together and send your Christmas cards early. Ideally, you would start this process in September. Whether you take a professional photo or you take the photo yourself, you need to have these printed off and ready to go as soon as possible, especially if you need to send out somewhere from 100 -200 holiday cards. Spend a few hours each weekend putting the cards together and addressing them through October. Try to send them out all through Prayer. Then your card will be the initially card your friends see and everyone will be thankful for it!

2. Prepare your home for large numbers of guests. If you like to throw holiday parties or you are expecting a large gathering for Prayer or Christmas, you need to make sure that your home can accommodate numerous people. Buy some extra tall bar stools for your counter and find a way to squeeze extra chairs around the dining room table. It may be cozy, but it is the holidays; no one will mind!

3. Order your turkey and other holiday foods early! If you are someone who diplomacy to feed a large crowd, then prepare for a few surprise guests. You never know who might show up and it is always excellent to have leftovers anyhow. Who does not take pleasure in eating a week’s worth of turkey sandwiches? Ordering early also ensures that your food will be ready when you need to pick it up. If your try to buy a turkey at the last small, the odds are slim that you will find one the size and quality that you need.

Since the holiday season is in full swing, you need to send out those holiday cards, buy those counter stools, and order that turkey. Have a less worrying holiday season this year by preparing early!
