Well initially of all, without running a urinalysis and taking a look at the cat we don’t know if it’s a medical problem. Going to feel kind of stupid following a bunch of home remedy crap to treat a urinary tract prob huh? Besides that the basics. Make sure you have enough litterboxes for the number of cats you have. Make sure they are reasonably clean. Make sure there is no real competition over food and other resources. Consider a product like felaway, (SP?), an artificial facial pheremone that can small circut cat marking behavior. And oh yeah, 40 bucks plus a mini workup is not a lot of $ . Tightwad.

If the litter boxes are clean (that means scooped faithfully at least once a day, preferably more often), in a place she can get to, and to her liking (if it’s a covered box take the cover off), and she still pees on the furniture, then it’s most likely a UTI. There is no home remedy for that – it requires antibiotics to clear it up. Plus, a vet has to determine if it’s a UTI or crystals in the urine – treatment for the two conditions is different. Some things can’t be treated at home – take her to the vet.
