Question by Autumn JO: I want to add!! I got a puppy and he died in in this area 5 days, How do I know if or worrms?
The repsonses I got was nasty, I had the puupy for in this area an week and yes I was very sad, the initially day the puupy was frightened I called my mom, I wasnt sure what was incorrect with buddy. I know she herself is no vet but my initially instinct was take him to the vet but my mom thought maybe she was a small sick from the heat… Then when he got no better and I called her she came and looked at his stool and I myself saw the white worm looking things in his stool. I gave him the medicine and he seemed to be doing better that day.. I should have called the vet yesterday, when he seemed to be getting back to the way he was.. I did not leave him out there to die, I sat out there and tried to pot feed him water and even tried to feed him some chicken to get him to eat.. Then this daylight when I went out to check on him, he was laying there nearly lifeless and I called around to all the local vets, the one vet told me to give him a bath cuz of the flies and when I went back out in less then one hour he by now had died… I am a single motehr with three children and I did not have the cash tot ake him to the vet but I was going to use my rent cash to take him because my kids were by now attached and I was too. I admitt I dont know much in this area puppys but having to go through this I am well aware now. I just wish I knew what I know now and maybe buddy will be with us still. I JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE THIS DONT HAPPEN AGAIN… Did i give buddy all the concentration maybe he needed, I am sorry I do work and go to school but we made sure he had water and food b4 we left in the daylight and when we played with buddy. I also did not know you could not take them for walks,

Just please does it sound like or worms?? I do have three children and I am in no rush to get another puppy but I want to get another puppy for them and this time before I bring home I will make sure I take him/her to the vet!!

I want to add, I am not 100 percent sure it the smell was out of habitual, but if he died from worms, how long does it take for a puppy to die from worms, and how do i know if it was or worms?

We got a rot and german sheperd mix from my mom, I would say he was in this area 2-3 months ancient. The initially day we got him he seemed fine and then the next day we were taking him for a walk and I oicked him up and watery diarehha came out. He still seemed fine and then the next day, when I got hime from work he was not very energetic and seemed sick, I thought maybe from the heat. I also noticed that he did not eat and barley drank his water. We went his dog house near the shade and later that night he still would not eat. The next day my mom came over to look at him and she checked his poop and there were white material in it, my mom said he had worms so I bought some worm medicine and gave it to him that day.. In this area an hour later he was up playing and finally eating. Then the next day he seemed to be getting worse and then when i went out this Am to checkj on him he was laying there and flys on him. He was nearly dead, I came in the house to call vets and in in this area an hour he was finally dead. His back in was very thin, he was also vomiting and diarrha(water like).. I am wondering if it was worms or and how do i know the difference? If it was what do I need to do outside to be able to get another puppy.. My puppy had not had it shots yet and the people we got it from said at 6 weeks, they did worm him.

Hard to say being no one took this dog to a vet or had any started any shots like they should have.

The way to make sure this doesn’t happen again is to get from a excellent breeder or shelter. A shelter or excellent breeder makes sure the dogs or puppies are UTD on shots before going to their new homes. They also never give or sell puppies before 8 weeks of age. Excellent breeders don’t breed mutts. They only have purebred Champion Titled parents reproducing. Also, you should always take a dog to a vet within the initially few days of getting it. Just excellent practice.

Call a vet, tell them what happened, and question how to treat your house and yard in case it was .

What do you reckon? Answer not more than!

Does it really matter? You killed your dog by not taking him to the vet. It sounds harsh, but such things are rarely nice.

Don’t get another dog until you have the cash to take care of it properly.

Dont get another dog , this puppy should of went to vet the day you got him for a wellness check and shots he needed . If you cant afford a vet then dont get a dog , He could also of had both worms and parvo among other things . If you bring a puppy to your house and your puppy did have parvo another dog will just die . Parvo can live for up to and over a year even in freezing conditions in your yard.
    Dont get another dog .

Naturally when a dog has parvo they have blood in their stool and they do not eat or drink and they now and again vomit also their bowel movement nearly smells like something rotten.. I have gotten puppies from the beat that had worms pretty terrible and they never died but they can kill a dog or cat but they have had to had them a pretty long time.

Initially of all, if you can not afford a vet, you cannot afford to have a dog. Period. Please do not get another one until you can properly take care of it. There are laws protecting children from neglect and there are laws protecting pets from neglect as well . There is no way to tell what killed your puppy. No puppy should be left out in the heat. No dog should be left out in the heat. This constitutes neglect and abuse. Parvo will live in the environment for a LONG time. Hook and whip worms will too. Please, do not get another dog until you can afford to take care of it.

There isn’t anyhow to tell for sure without having tested the dog. I just lost a foster puppy to parvo and it is devastating. He started with an upset tummy and within 4 days he was gone. He didn’t have the tell tale cryptogram of parvo at initially which are usually bloody diarrhea and vomiting. The stool has an evident odor with parvo. I took him to the vet I work at immediately and he was hospitalized and treated aggressively but it was too much for him and he passed away.

I don’t want to pass judgment but I have a broken heart from someones ignorance. He was rescued from a shelter and a simple round of vaccinations could have prevented his death. Puppies are expensive and if you can’t afford even simple medical care then you shouldn’t get one. I can’t imagine the pain your puppy experienced dying alone because you couldn’t afford vet care. I apologize for being a small nasty but you have to face the facts. Im sure you are a fantastic mother and times are tough for us all but your puppy shouldn’t have died and you shouldn’t get another one.

Well firstly, YOU NEED TO LEARN TO TALK AND TYPE LIKE A NORMAL PERSON!!!! I can barely read the way you talk and spell the words you type. Also, DO NOT BUY A PET THAT YOU CANNOT TAKE CARE OF!!! One other thing, BRING IT INSIDE!!!! Why would you leave it out if it was dying???? That is exceptionally cruel!!! I don’t know if it was Parvo or worms, but it was probably your terrible care for the poor thing. You do not deserve to care for animals.
