Q&A: What colour to paint bathroom? What colour and shade goes the best with a Grey toilet, sink & bath?
Question by jo-bob: What colour to paint bathroom? What colour and shade goes the best with a Grey toilet, sink & bath?
The grey is the same colour as the SEARCH pin above. Its neither light grey, or dark grey but some where in between.
I have a very small bathroom and loads of light comes in through the windows.
At the moment, its a dark blue (don’t know what I was thinking there!) but its very over due for a revamp
What colour and shade would you suggest for grey bathroom furniture?
Forget to mention, I have a sky bue lino flooring
So thats grey toilet, sink & bath, sky blue baffle and dark blue walls. Not a excellent combination.
So far your answers have been very excellent. Thank you.

I have a freind who did her boys’ bathroom in grey and burgundy with black accent towels and counter accessories. Looked very sharp!

Paint it peach or pink or maroon or burgundy and get a matching rug and toilet lid cover. If not just paint them gray to match the toilet and the tub and the sink and get white tiles.

HUM… for a sleek look, go for ultra gloss, pure white on the walls and black, or black w/white stripes curtains, accessories and decorations.
For something more mellow, go with monochromatic shades of purple. Lighter for the walls, darker for curtains and accessories.
For a more pleased, lively look, pick reds, orange and yellows

To get more versitility later on, I would paint it a white or pale cream, then use no matter what accent colors you feel like. You then can change your towels, accents later on without having to re-paint but still get a ‘new’ feeling each time.

Any darker shade of blue is excellent, or a maroon, just dont over due it. Paint half the wall in the color and place wainscoating at the botttom or an accent wall. But not the whole bathroom

No matter what you pick, I would go with color (not white) and medium shade/tone for your walls. It is still your preference.
* A small room, naturally go towards very light colored walls.
* Golden-haired, red, orange, pink, etc… are warm colors.
* Blue, green, purple, etc… are cool colors.
* Gray shades are neutral so it would match any color.
* Your room has lots of light, go towards medium shades of actual color (not the whites/off whites). Also, due to plenty of light, concern of cool or warm shades should not be a concern. Personally, I would still pick warm wall shade with the cooler/neutral gray.
No. pinks – - too small girlish.
No. oranges – - harder to match/works better with browns.
No. yellows – - too kitchen-y or sunroom-y.
No. sharp reds.
*** Yes. medium reds such as MAUVE, plum, maroon. The plum & maroon are dark – - find medium color you like of those shades for walls.
*** white, off-white for ceiling.
*** dark reds such as maroon, plum for accessories.
*** main colors in room in a vinyl wallpaper border can tie it all together. It do this, also use wallpaper glue in an applicator pot even if it is prepasted; otherwise, steam could loosen.

a light shade of pink will soften and give a elegant mood. Add metallic sliver or polished nickel accents.

I wouldn’t go with anything dark in this case. I usually despise white (when you live in an apartment with all white walls that you can’t paint, you would despise it too!), but in this case, I reckon it would feel very nice to go with an icy, cottage feel. I provided a link to show what I am talking in this area. I reckon the huge deal in bathrooms is for it to feel like a spa, a place you just go in and relax.
The other option is you could go with a crazy red, and do an ultra modern feel, but I don’t reckon it would work well with the floors, plus it wouldn’t be too relaxing.

I would say, don’t fight it, go with it. so if you don’t want it to stand out, you need it to blend in and look like you picked that grey toilet on purpose, that’s my philosophy.
I recommend; Benjamin Moore

either of these should look excellent with your baffle also and then I would recommend going with sky blue towels, or layering white and sky blue towels, that kind of thought. The look will be very clean, comfortable and have an urban flare to it.
