Work islands are usually the same as a counter top – overlap(distance between the work surface edge and the cab.) will vary if you plot to use shelving in the cab. or use a stool or tall chair. 36″h ……. table and chairs should no vary more than 30″ and 18″ respectively

Ordinary chair height is a comfortable 18 inches, the ususal kitchen table is 29 inches high and the island is 35 inches high. These are only heights, as far as depth goes, a person cant necessarily reach more than 3 feet across a counter or island . An usually luxurious table would be 42 across. In length, a table would be in this area 60 inches long, an island in a large kitchen could be even longer. This is just vague,thinking-out-loud material. Hope this gives you something to work with. Excellent Luck.

I bought this for use in the kitchen to hold a microwave. It comes in kit form and requires careful study of the instructions before gathering which took in this area an hour with some help from another person. The resulting cart is handsome and sturdy. The black, full-size microwave countertop oven that I bought to go on top fits so well that most people reckon that the two, cart and the microwave, were bought together and made for each other. The drawer works but is a small hard to pull out even after greasing the wood rails that it rides on. I won’t use the drawer that much anyhow.

We bought this cart to hold an Aerogrow Garden and it’s supplies. It works perfectly — sturdy, mobile and keeps everything at hand. Brilliant construction and relatively simple gathering. I highly recommend this product.
